KellyGzee Early Music Life (KellyGzee Biography Tribe & Genre of Music i.e The Type of Music)
KellyGzee is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer who specializes in early music, a genre that revives the musical styles and instruments of the medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods. He was born in Lagos in 1990 and grew up in a musical family. He learned to play the lute, the harp, the recorder and the viola da gamba at a young age and developed a passion for ancient music. He studied musicology at the University of Lagos and later moved to London to pursue a master’s degree in early music performance at the Royal Academy of Music.
He has performed with various early music ensembles and soloists across Europe and Africa, such as The Sixteen, Jordi Savall, Emma Kirkby and Kemi Ogunyemi. He has also composed and produced original songs that blend early music elements with contemporary influences, such as afrobeat, hip hop and R&B. His debut album, “Timeless”, was released in 2021 and received critical acclaim for its innovative and eclectic sound. KellyGzee is considered one of the pioneers of early music in Nigeria and a rising star in the global music scene.
