Robert Ebizimor Hings was a Nigerian musician and songwriter who was born in 1949 in Ogbia, Bayelsa State. He belonged to the Ogbia ethnic group and sang in the Ogbia language. He was one of the pioneers of the Ijaw highlife genre, which blended traditional Ijaw rhythms and melodies with modern instruments and influences. He started his musical career in the late 1960s as a drummer for various bands, before forming his own group, the Robert Ebizimor Hings Band, in the early 1970s.
He recorded several albums and performed across Nigeria and abroad, gaining popularity and recognition for his unique style and voice. He died in 2013 at the age of 64, leaving behind a legacy of songs that celebrate the culture and history of the Ijaw people.
